Lesson 1
Setup & Fundamentals
- Mouse & DPI: Choose a sensitivity that lets you do a 180° comfortably. Many players use medium-low sens for precision.
- Display: Stable frame rate helps consistency. Use a resolution and refresh rate your system can maintain.
- Keybinds: Keep movement, utility, and comms within easy reach. Avoid awkward finger stretches.
- Audio: Reliable stereo positioning is essential for footsteps and cues. Use in-game options to balance effects and voice.
Tip: pick settings, then keep them stable for a while. Frequent changes can slow skill building.
Lesson 2
Aim & Crosshair Placement
Core ideas that reduce reaction time:
- Pre-aim: keep the crosshair at common angles where opponents appear.
- Head-level aim: aim at expected head height to reduce adjustment time.
- Tracking vs. flicks: tracking for moving targets; controlled flicks for quick peeks.
- Consistency: short daily routines beat long, irregular sessions.
Micro-drills: 5–10 mins of stationary targets → 5 mins moving targets → 5 mins recoil control.
Lesson 3
Movement, Positioning & Utility
- Sound discipline: walk when noise gives away position; run when speed matters more than stealth.
- Shoulder peeks: gather info with minimal exposure; avoid wide swings without support.
- Cover & spacing: use corners and off-angles; don’t block teammates’ lines of fire.
- Utility timing: layer smokes/flashes/recon (if available in your game) to take space or delay rotations.
Lesson 4
Roles & Communication
Typical roles in team-based shooters and strategy titles:
- Entry: goes first with support, creates space, trades expected.
- Support: sets up utility, trades, secures map control.
- Lurk: applies pressure on flanks, hits timings to split defenses.
- Anchor: delays hits on a site/objective, calls rotations.
- Shotcaller (IGL): sets pace, mid-round calls based on info and resources.
Comms formula: “Enemy count + location + action + your status” (e.g., “2 mid pushing, I’m falling back”).
Lesson 5
Strategy & Macro Decisions
- Defaulting: safe map control to gather info before committing.
- Executes: planned takes with layered utility and clear trading rules.
- Rotations: move based on info, not only timing; leave “rest defense” to prevent counter-pushes.
- Resource planning: manage equipment/abilities; invest when team can convert, save when odds are low.
Practice
Daily Routine (30–45 min)
- Warm-up aim: 10–15 min (static → moving → recoil control).
- Utility review: 5–10 min (lineups, timings, callouts in a custom range if available).
- Movement drills: 5–10 min (peeks, counter-strafe, jiggle).
- VOD note-taking: 10 min (what worked, what to fix next time).
Lesson 7
Fair Play & Safety
- Follow the game’s code of conduct and community rules.
- Do not use unauthorized tools or exploits. Play fairly and respectfully.
- Take breaks, stretch, and keep good posture to avoid strain.
- Mute or report abusive behavior using in-game tools where appropriate.
